Sharon

Hi, I’ve worked for Affordable Care Vet Clinic since 1996. I enjoy working with all the dogs and cats and their people who came to visit us. I am married with three grown children. We have 5 dogs, 3 rough collies: Savannah, who I compete in agility with, Firefly, and new baby London, 2 Maltese: Squeak and Hercules who sometimes do agility but prefer to sit in laps and watch TV.  We also have three cats Chelsea, Nemo, and Willow (who rule the house). I also teach foundation and beginners agility at Keystone Canine Club. How lucky are we to be able to work with wonderful pets and clients and great doctors!

Carol

I’ve been working at Affordable Care since 2012. Started caring for critters at a young age and never stopped, I have more cats than the average bear. I work with several rescue groups doing TNR and I foster kittens and medical cases. I hope to open a cat sanctuary/hospice in the future and always be a crazy cat lady.

Becky

I moved to Finleyville in 2014 to work at Affordable Care Veterinary Clinic.  Previously, I lived in Louisville, KY and worked in the veterinary field for over 12 years.  I am the proud owner of multiple Long-Haired Chihuahuas, an English Toy Spaniel, and a variety of other furry friends. Even though it can be difficult, senior rescue is a passion of mine. No matter how little time I may have with my seniors, I wouldn’t change it for the world. In my free time I participate in AKC canine agility competitions.

Erin

I am a certified veterinary technician and 2017 Vet Tech Institute graduate. My love for animals started at a very young age, my first words being “hey cat”. I am very passionate about animal rights, spaying/neutering, and client education. At home I have a small army of cats, two dogs, and a flock of chickens. When I’m not at Affordable Care I enjoy spending time with my son Ezra and my partner Seth, hiking, traveling, and collecting antiques.

Kayla

I began working at the clinic in January of 2018.  I am currently attending California University of Pennsylvania for pre-veterinary medicine.  I maintain working at the clinic even while I am attending school.  I have known for as long as I can remember that I wanted to go to school for veterinary medicine, as I have always had an interest in helping others and a passion for animals.  Working for ACVC has given me the opportunity for an innumerable amount of hands-on learning experiences that I am able to take with me on my path to my future in veterinary medicine.

Preston S

I began working at the clinic in the summer of 2016.  I graduated from Otterbein University with degrees in Biology and Zoo & Conservation Science in the spring of 2022.  In the fall of 2024, I will be attending Iowa State University School of Veterinary Medicine to pursue my DVM!  When I can, I hope to return and work on breaks!  At home in the south hills, I have a beagle/aussie mix Daisy that loves to play and go for walks!  ACVC has given me incredible experiences over the years and I have had the pleasure to work with great coworkers and pets alike!  In my free time, I enjoy going for a run or playing the viola, bassoon or saxophone.

Christine S

I’ve been an animal person since birth.  I’ve never met a critter I didn’t like and tend to understand them better than people.  The saying ‘God gives you what you need, not what you want’ is true and I take it to heart.  I’ve never turned an animal away.  I always figured if God brings them to me, who am I to turn them away.  It’s a gift and my purpose.

Kate C

My hubby and I love being outside. We have our dog, Kya, a heeler mix, our indoor kitty Finley and our two young draft horses Cooper and Rylee. Outside of work and taking care of our animals, we enjoy fishing, hiking and camping.

Mandi L

Growing up, I have always been an animal lover.  As a child, my dream was to be a veterinarian.  At 14, I got my first animal-related job at a boarding kennel.  I now have had the pleasure of gaining 12 years of animal experience.  I also enjoy the outdoors, anything artistic, and most importantly, my family and friends.

Amber S

Fur mom to a black and tan coonhound, Amber loves permanent body art, baking, and being outdoors.  She is also an avid horse owner since the age of 5.  She is looking forward to meeting our client’s precious babies!

Ashley M

I began working at the clinic in the fall of 2020, while in my senior year of undergraduate college.  I attended Pennsylvania State University and majored in veterinary and biomedical sciences and I am now attending Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine to work towards becoming a veterinarian.  I have wanted to be a veterinarian  since I was very young, and I work at the clinic over my school breaks to gain important experience in the field of veterinary medicine.  At home in Finleyville, I have a vizsla named Toby who I love very much.  In my free time, I love to read, play video games, and go for hikes.

Shayna B

I have been working with animals since my first job in high school as a kennel assistant.  At home I am a wife and mom of two crazy boys.  We also have an english mastiff Rawling, a french bulldog Nova and a lizard Jeff.  As a family we enjoy riding our side by side.  I am very excited to join this excellent team and learn something new every day.  I can’t wait to snuggle your fur babies!

Jess L

Hi there!  I’m Jess L.  I guess I’m known as the Greyhound Gurl at ACVC!  In addition to greyhounds I have an absolute weakness for special needs and those white faced seniors.  Taking care of people and animals is what I’m meant to do.  I enjoy doing transports to help dogs find their way to their forever homes.  Though I have been know to “transport fail” a couple of times!  I am also a licensed massage therapist helping people with their chronic conditions and volunteer to deliver meals on wheels to those in need as well.  I am over the moon excited and feel so incredibly lucky to be a part of this team.  Prior to coming aboard, my husband and I were clients for 10+ years.  I appreciate all ACVC has done for our ever growing family of fur over the years.  To be a part of such talented, compassionate and knowledgeable team is an honor and I couldnt’ be happier to be here.  I am sure you’ll see me some time you’re in.  I’m told I’m a walking rainbow so I am hard to miss!

Mandy B

I am from Washington, PA.  I have loved animals of all varieties for my entire life.  My parents always supported my love of animals, encouraging me to learn all I could about them from a young age.  They allowed me to adopt all kinds of critters when I was growing up.  I learned to care for our furry, feathered and scaly family members and also to respect and protect wildlife.

Tyler N

What’s up everyone, I’m Tyler.  I am a new technician to ACVC.  I am from Collier Township.  Initially I went to community college after high school.  Decided it was not for me.  I went to Pittsburgh Career Institute and studied to be a vet tech.  I plan on being certified once I gain enough experience.  My love for animals started when I was very young.  Most children watched cartoons.  Not me.  I watched Animal Planet.  My mom says I talked with an Australian accent like Steve Irwin.  I have a 10 year old Shiba Inu named Roxy.  In my free time, I read, go fishing, watch hockey (tried to play, not very good, hangout and go to metal concerts.  I listen to music any chance I get.  Shout out to ACVC for being the best there is.  I look forward to meeting everyone.

Anj H

Hi, I’m Anj!  I started working at the clinic in May 2022.  Currently, I am attending Allegheny College and majoring in Biology and Psychology.  During my semesters I work as a tour guide and a research assistant.  At home, I have 2 rescue dogs named Mac and Jovie, 5 cats named Mason, Lucy, Ally, Lover and Finn, and a bearded dragon Pascal.  I have wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine since I was very young and ACVC has given me an amazing opportunity to continue my path to my passion.

Bethany G

Bethany has been a certified veterinary technician since 2016.  She started at Affordable Care Veterinary Clinic in 2021.  She loves every animal big and small and has a passion for aiding in treating them.  Bethany loves the special cases that involve exotics and pocket pets.  Simple cases and vet visits by beagle patients are her favorite as well.  In her spare time, Bethany enjoys gardening and the company of her 3 dogs, 4 cats and her lovebird and chameleon.

Alex C

I graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2008.  The majority of that time was in lab animal medicine with clinical medicine mixed in.  I am licensed and I enjoy working with various species especially exotics and floofy golden retrievers.  In my spare time I spend time with my husband, 4 cats (Meeia, Lila, Evie, and Mazie), Axolotl (Rosie).  I also enjoy reading, hiking, and riding horses.

Marissa R

Hi, I’m Marissa. I’ve been a vet assistant/receptionist since 2019. I adore all animals, but have a special interest in exotic pets. That’s how I ended up at ACVC. I spend my days off work reading, playing video games, and adventuring wherever life takes me. My family means the world to me. My husband and I have 2 kiddos, 2 dogs, 4 cats, some fish and reptiles.

Meg H

Hello! My name is Meg, I am a graduate of Vet Tech Institute as of 2023 and i am currently studying to become a certified veterinary technician! I applied to complete my externship at ACVC and was very honored to be hired immediately after my interview! I am not only a technician though, you may also see me working up at the front desk as a receptionist as well! I have a soft spot for all cattle dogs and black cats as I have 2 of each and jump at the opportunity to cuddle them anytime I see one come in! Fun fact both of my kitties where actually adopted from ACVC! I look forward to creating bonds with you and your fur babies and will treat them as my own!!

Melinda W

I started at ACVC April 2024. I have always been an animal lover, growing up on a dairy farm and doing projects through 4H. My husband and I have 2 teenagers, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses, a donkey, fainting goats, rabbits and chickens. I’m very active in the Washington county agriculture community and travel the East Coast professionally shearing sheep and alpacas.
